Wix Invoices
OVERVIEW
Wix Invoices is a core part of Wix’s suite of business solutions, enabling users to easily receive online payments from their customers. Pre-installed by default on all user accounts, it’s one of our most widely used tools. Wix users send approximately 270,000 invoices each month through the platform.
ROLE
In this project, I contributed to the redesign of the invoice creation flow, improving usability and streamlining the experience for users. I also played a key role in a large cross-functional initiative called Client Subscriptions. This feature empowers Wix Partners, agencies and designers building websites on Wix, to seamlessly bundle and charge Wix Premium plans to their clients directly within an invoice.
GOAL
Drive business growth by equipping users with seamless, integrated financial tools that help them get paid directly through their website and CRM.
Usability Tests
During this project, we conducted usability testing to validate our design assumptions early on. Given limited resources and development time, this approach allowed us to identify issues and iterate quickly, ensuring a more effective final design before handoff.
OBJECTIVES
During these tests, we aimed to investigate three key areas:
-
User understanding of invoice types — Could users clearly distinguish between a recurring invoice and a regular one?
-
Invoice settings comprehension — Did users understand how to locate and modify invoice settings?
-
Flow usability — Were users able to navigate and interact with the redesigned invoice creation flow smoothly?
PROTOTYPE
We used a code-based prototype, which enabled us to observe participants interacting with the designs in a realistic, hands-on environment.
RESULTS
Conducting usability tests during COVID posed unique challenges, but we successfully gathered valuable insights and feedback. These findings enabled us to iterate effectively and optimize the user flow ahead of the development phase, ultimately saving time and improving the final experience.

User Interfaces
This project unfolded over the course of an entire year in 2021, involving continuous collaboration, research, testing, and iteration across multiple teams. It was a complex initiative that evolved through many phases—from early discovery to usability testing and final implementation. The screens presented below capture just a small glimpse of the broader scope of work.
